Debit Cards
For systems not utilizing PINs for inmate dialing privileges, DebitCall
allows you to generate batches of calling card numbers for pre-determined
amounts that can then be sold through the Commissary or other facility
program. For example, batches of automatically generated calling cards
can be created in various dollar amounts. You can choose the card value
for each batch.
Pre-paid calling cards can be restricted to one or more phone numbers
during card activation so that a spouse can buy a card and request that
the inmate only call family numbers using the card – the debit value
is only good for calls made to the specified phone numbers.
In this application, callers are prompted to enter their card number in
order to proceed with call validation. No card reading equipment is required.
Potential call charges are checked against card balances and card balances
refer to the same thing – the amount of money available to the inmate
for pre-paid debit calls.
To reduce potential fraud and card-stealing, automatically generated pre-paid
calling cards are disabled until proper activation.
