Client Access Telephone Systems
The AmTel furnished equipment offers fully automated operator services for all station-to-station and person-to-person collect calls. The system limits client access to a live operator eliminating the opportunity for operator deception and fraud, thereby improving system security and profitability.
Access Code Blocking
The system equipment employs several levels of call blocking to ensure attempted calls to unauthorized phone numbers, and long distance carrier services, are blocked at the facility. This includes attempted calls to 911, and access to 1010XXXX, 800, 900, 950, and 976 services.
Comprehensive Blocked Numbers List
The system automatically denies access to all telephone numbers on the block list. Almost any number of discrete phone numbers can be blocked upon the request of facility administrators, individual owners, or other system managers, usually within a few hours of request.
Automatic Blocking
The system will automatically place into a temporary block file all harassing calls that have been refused four (4) times in succession, and further access to that number will be terminated at the facility for approximately the next twenty four (24) hours. Such numbers may be permanently blocked upon request, usually the next business day.
Protective Call Announcements
Each collect call announcement indicates that the call is originating from a correctional facility to help prevent fraud. Custom "tag lines" available at the request of the facility.
Controlled Call Duration and Access Limitations
Each call duration is limited to a prearranged length, usually fifteen (15) minutes. Additionally, the AmTel system is installed with toggle switches mounted in an administrative control area, that may be used to isolate access to any one or all client phones, at any time.
Automatic Access Periods
Upon request, the system can be programmed to turn on, and to turn off, all client phones at specifically assigned daily start and stop times.
